Flitzer Designs
Flitzer Z-21 (Basic Plans)The Flitzer Z-21 plans are the Basic Plans of the Flitzer Series of aeroplanes. These plans are used to construct the Flitzer Z-21 (the basic Flitzer model), as well as the Flitzer Z-21A (a variation with a slightly wider fuselage) and the Flitzer Z-1 (the prototype airplane that has now been replaced by the Flitzer Z-21 design). These plans, along with individual supplemental plans, are also necessary for the construction of each of the other aeroplanes of the Flitzer Series, including the Flitzer Z-1 Type S StummelFlitzer, the Kobold (Goblin), and the two-place Z-2 Schwalbe (Swallow). The Flitzer Z-21 Basic Plans consist of 33 sheets, most of which are 24" by 36" dimensions. These sheets are crammed full of drawings, sketches, notes, construction details, artwork, assembly instructions, and historic comments. It seems that not a square inch of space is wasted, even the borders sometimes get pushed aside to make way for an additional detail. A separate construction manual is not required, as all assembly details, procedures and assembly tools are included in the basic drawing set. It has been commented by more than one reader that the drawings are works of art in themselves, and are worth the price just to have as an outstanding example of the art and technology of classic aeroplane construction. Supplemental PlansSupplemental Plans are required in addition to the Basic Plans set in order to build other aeroplanes of the Flitzer Series. Each supplemental plan set consist of 10 to 20 additional drawings, equally rich in detail, showing the required variations to the basic plan set for proper construction. The two sets of plans must be read in conjunction, however the instructions are clear as to which set of plans are applicable in each instance. Supplemental Plans currently exist for the following Flitzer Series designs: Flitzer Z-1 Type S StummelFlitzer - Released as 'Provisional Drawings'. 12 sheets. Flitzer Kobold / Goblin - Under development. Flitzer Z-2 Schwalbe / Swallow - Under developmentLicenses Purchase of a set of Flitzer Z-21 Basic Plans includes the license to construct one aeroplane from the plans. This license is transferable to a new owner upon notification and acceptance by the vendor, however not more than one aeroplane may be constructed from each license. If Supplemental Plans were purchased, then that design of aeroplane may be constructed, however the purchase of Supplemental Plans does not grant an additional license for construction of an aeroplane. Persons wishing to construct a second aeroplane for their own or immediate family use from an existing set of Basic or Basic + Supplemental plans that they themselves have purchased, may apply for an additional license from the original vendor. Such a license will normally be granted free of charge, however a new license number will be issued for the new airplane. No warranty, express or implied, by Flitzer Aero Publishing Co. is made to the suitability of the plans or any part thereof for the construction of an aircraft. If an individual, or group of individuals, constructs an aircraft from these plans, or any part thereof, and fly the aircraft, they do so at their own risk and without any liability whatsoever on the part of Flitzer Aero Publishing Co, all such liability being hereby expressly waived by the acceptance of these plans by any person and by any person who flies the aircraft. This waiver shall be binding upon the heirs, executors, administrators and assigns of any such person. |
